Walmart Beauty Box Unboxing: Fall 2014

Today, I finally received me Walmart Beauty Box! I just got the tracking information this afternoon and found out it was on the truck headed to my house! (Unfortunately my mail runs later in the day, so I was stalking the mail man come 5:00p haha) I was really excited to see what was in my box because this quarterly subscription is only $5 (I figured for 5 bucks, I could get at least one box, and if it stunk I could cancel). As stated early this is a quarterly subscription, which means it comes 4 times a year. One box for each season - Roughly every 3 months. This box is their Fall 2014 box. (So, the next box I will receive will be their Winter box). Each box is $5.00. Walmart advertises that their box itself is free, but you just pay the $5.00 for shipping.

The box comes like this:

It's wrapped in a plastic sheet to keep it closed with the printed shipping label on the bottom.

After I opened up, there was a little card on top stating that it was Walmart's fall box and it "provides you with beauty products that are uniquely you and will soon be a part of you everyday routine." As well as reminding you to use Walmart.

I did like the extra decoration on the inside/outside of the glossy cardboard box.

After peeling back the tissue paper, I revealed my items! (I feel like I was even more excited for this to unbox this one because it was so cheap. Haha, does that make sense?)

The first item I recieved was a sample of the Nicki Minaj Perfume in "Pink Friday". The value is probably about $0.50. 

Fragrantica says "the scent is an intoxicating floral - musky one as it mixes playful fruity notes, pink flower petals, creamy vanilla, musk and woods. It opens with juicy notes of star fruit, Italian mandarin, and a blackberry and raspberry hybrid called boysenberry. Lotus and starry jasmine petals are in the heart, while the base consists of caramelized pear, vanilla, musk and woody notes."

I enjoy the scent in the container so I will give this a try and see how I like it one me. (After I'm done with some of my other fragrance samples.)

The next set I received was a shampoo/conditioner combo from Dove. It's called the Dove Advanced Series Oxygen Moisture series; it's designed for fine, flat hair. I'm really excited to try this combo since that is exactly my hair type (SCORE!). Hopefully, I'll find another hair combo from this! Estimated value of these samples are $0.84. 

I also received another dove hair-care product in my box. The third one is a sample of the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil valued at about $1.41. Right now I'm trying to use up another hair treatment, but I'll have to give this a try and see how my hair likes it.

The next item is the Secret Clinical Strength Invisible Solid. This item is FULL SIZED and is valued at $7.94. I can always use deodorant :)

The next item I recieved was the Covergirl Glowing Nights Glosstinis in the color #After Dark 710. This is a FULL SIZED product as well, even though it is a little small (It's only 3.5 ml/0.11oz). It's valued at $2.97. The color is a very pretty green-blue color. It also appears to have a VERY subtle silver glitter. It dries fairly quickly and is opaque with 2 coats. This is a very beautiful color and the formula was easy to apply, so I see myself getting alot of use from this. (More so in the Spring/Summer with this color)

The Next item I recieved was the L'Oreal Paris Glossy Balm in the shade Pink Me Up (240). This is FULL SIZED product valued at $6.97. This is a product I have wanted to try, so it was a nice addition to this box! The color is a sheer bright pink; the swatch has a few layers so you could see the color. But it is one you could have be sheer. It also feels like a moisturizing formula.

The last items in my box we two little foil sample packets. I normally don't like foil packets, but since the box already had several items and the value for me, I didn't mind them as much. The two foil packets were for L'Oreal Paris Youth Code Pore Vanisher (0.06 oz) valued at $0.86, and the Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Makeup with tone correcting complex in various shades. I won't put a value on this one since it's only enough to really match your color (something I am thankful for since it's hard to match my color, but a product I won't be purchasing anytime soon as I have foundations to work through). However, the sample does come with a coupon for $2.00 off your purchase of the full-sized foundation, making it only about $11.97.

The total value of the box is about $21.49 (without tax!). If you don't include the foil pack and the perfume the value is still over $20, which is FOUR TIMES the price I paid for the box. I was enjoyed that I got 7 new products to try, 3 of which were full sized.

Overall I really liked this box, and look forward to getting my box sometime in the winter.
